Led the front-end team, owning all front-end functionality and upgrades against a Ruby on Rails API.
Context
Grace Hill's platform needed a front end with clear ownership: one team accountable for the component layer, the state management, and the search experience.
What I owned
- Led the front-end team, overseeing all front-end functionality and upgrades
- Developed and maintained all React components, including state management via Redux and back-end API integration with Ruby on Rails
- Configured and maintained Elasticsearch for optimal performance
- Managed a team of three, providing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations
Outcome
A front-end team with clear ownership, and three engineers growing under direct mentorship.
The role ended in a reduction in force.
